Don't forget afterburners! It's getting to be that time of year again. Unfortunately, I'm going to be missing two of the Texas shows I always go to. I may have to go out of state to catch something.

Afterburners! Just saw the Blue Angels and an F-22 demo this weekend. The noise is unbelievable.

I just went searching for Wings over McConnell and was bummed to see its apparently not happening this year. Looks like there are a couple of things in Missouri this summer but nothing in KC until next year and nothing in Wichita which is sad to me, seeing as it was once the "Air Capital". To digress a little bit, I was home a couple weeks ago and was bummed to see that Beachcraft had torn down some of their buildings at Kellogg and Webb road. I guess they are building a Costco there. They are also building a new terminal at ICT which which should be really nice for the two or three gates they currently use...

Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, LA (home of our B52 2d Bomb Wing) will be having their Air Show April 26th and 27th. Thunderbirds, various warbirds and some great static displays. I'll be going both days to take lots of pics.

Cessna bought Beachcraft. Consolidation I'd guess.

The best airshow ive been to by far was the Redding, PA show. Watching the mock attack on a german armour column while inside the top turret of a B-17. Lots of fun. Not to mention its got the Custer channel wing at the museum. Fantastic design and history.

Oh, and every once in awhile they have a USO show reenactment with a big band and singers. Quite the spectacle.

Textron owns both of them. I really don't care either way as long as they keep making planes in Wichita.

I think this is being built there.
